Jump Street is a 17-piece big band. The band was formed in the fall of 2002 and is co- led by Karen Simons on alto saxophone and Eric Simons on bass. The group has had unprecedented success attracting extremely talented and devoted players. Jump Street is well known in the Detroit Metro area. 

The band's repertoire includes such classics as American Patrol, Pennsylvania 6-5000, Satin Doll, and Moonlight Serenade. They don't stop at the classics though, the band enjoys performing contemporary hits by Brian Setzer and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy to delight audiences of all ages. Swing music is enjoying a resurgence of popularity in the new millennium and bands like Jump Street make it enjoyable for everyone.

The band's instrumentation remains true to the big bands of yesterday and includes 5 saxes, 4 trumpets, 4 trombones, bass, keyboards and percussion. John Telford handles the vocals, his wonderful baritone voice is well suited for classics like "Wonderful World", made famous by Louis Armstrong and "Unforgettable" by Nat King Cole.

Jump Street has enjoyed enthusiastic responses from a variety of groups of people.
